I get asked all the time what I use for tracking and stats. The answer to this day is still “mostly Excel and pivot tables.” Even with all these various software tracking solutions that have come out, none of them give me the instant visibility into my data that Excel does. But very few people seem to use pivot tables, or be comfortable with them at all. I hope to change that with this quick tutorial. Enjoy!
Oh also this is using Excel 2007 under Windows. If you’re on MacOS or any older version of Excel, the Pivot Table interface is different and utterly unintuitive. I can never figure it out so frankly this alone is reason enough to upgrade in my opinion.
