Interview with StatsJunky Partner

Friday, July 24th, 2009

I’ve been talking quite a bit in the last few months with StatsJunky partner Billy, about their software, where it’s headed, features I want to see added, LPGen integration, and much more.  I grabbed him for a quick interview the other day, so if you’re not too familiar with SJ or want to hear about some of the awesome things they have coming soon, check it out!

Woah - I’m a speaker now???

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

It was just brought to my attention that I’m listed as a speaker at Amish’s Magic Bullet seminar.

Wow talk about news to me!

OK so here’s how it happened…

I was telling Amish how I’m going to do everything in my power to get there, but I’ll have to bend a few things to make it work:

[7/20/2009 10:02:02 PM] Amish Shah: we def want u there
[7/20/2009 10:02:04 PM] Amish Shah: shit even if u wanna speak
[7/20/2009 10:02:06 PM] Amish Shah: that would be cool
[7/20/2009 10:02:12 PM] Amish Shah: but NO pitching
[7/20/2009 10:02:18 PM] Jonathan van Clute: lol… you’ve never seen me at an event.  Generally you can’t shut me up
[7/20/2009 10:02:27 PM] Jonathan van Clute: I’m the guy in the audiennce chiming in like every 30 seconds
[7/20/2009 10:02:27 PM] Jonathan van Clute: :D
[7/20/2009 10:02:29 PM] Amish Shah: but no pitching
[7/20/2009 10:02:30 PM] Amish Shah: haha
[7/20/2009 10:02:34 PM] Jonathan van Clute: nah nothing to pitch
[7/20/2009 10:02:40 PM] Jonathan van Clute: people pretty much know me anyway
[7/20/2009 10:02:50 PM] Jonathan van Clute: I’ll just dump my brain if given half a chance
[7/20/2009 10:03:01 PM] Jonathan van Clute: hahah

So there you have it… I didn’t formally say “yes” but I also didn’t say “no”.  I just left it open that I’ll be there and will participate.

Well… Amish took that as a formal “yes” and added me to the event roster.  I was just told about it minutes ago by my support helper Charles and I was VERY surprised!  I gave Amish a little crap about it and he actually offered to take my name off if I didn’t want it up but I really don’t mind.

Bottom line is I’m not coming with anything formal to present, I’m just coming to learn like everyone else… but I always find that I learn the best when I teach, so if I have any chance to share anything, I’m gonna take it.

So expect to have a lot of access to me - though honestly I’m not sure I belong on the same stage with guys like Amish, Styles, and now Keith Baxter too!  But hey, I’m sure I’ll learn a ton and hopefully you will too.

So there you have it… from hopeful attendee to speaker in less than 24 hours.  LOL

Google Cash Detective issues…

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

OK so… I ended up staying up until just past 4AM the other night/morning because of Google Cash Detective. Talk about an engrossing addictive tool.

BUT… will it deliver on what it promises?

This is where I’m not quite sure yet.

I don’t have any hard data to share yet… I want to do a video with some detail but I’ve got a VERY full plate right now (I shouldn’t even be spending ANY time with it quite frankly, at least not right now!)

But I can say this - the interface needs some work. The raw data is there and is amazing, BUT… there are next to no searching capabilities right now, nor sorting capabilities. At the moment, it is fairly clumsy to use.

Fortunately, that’s all very minor stuff to fix, and I’ve heard that it will be addressed within a few weeks. So… I’m still optimistic.

But I need to actually put up a campaign with it. So far, because of the clunky nature of the interface, I haven’t found anything that has met the criteria, and after a while you get sick of click-click-clicking to see each possibility one by one by one. I think I need to just commit to a full day where all I have to do, is get a campaign from GCD up & running.

Anyway that’s all I have to report right this second, and I’ve got loads of other things I need to be focusing on.

Oh crap and on that note I just noticed that it’s 12:25AM *AGAIN* (thanks to the time change this time). I’ve gone so nocturnal again… not good!

First Third-Party LPGen Plugin Released!

Friday, February 6th, 2009

I am just SO excited about this!

When I originally created LPGen, I envisioned it as a platform and not just a tool.  I deliberately left the module architecture open to development… but only a few more advanced users have put it to use for themselves.  Nobody has released anything to the public.

Until now!

And so it is with no small amount of pride that I introduce you to…

Adwords Smackdown for LPGen!

The above link goes to a quick demo I did of how the plugin works.  It’s seriously wicked for anyone doing Adwords especially.  I made the video then showed it to Aaron (Smackdown creator) and he offered to host it for me… so go have a look.  I made the video a little while ago before he had his sales page ready, so I mention that I don’t know the price, etc.  That’s all been settled now and you can actually see his sales page here:   http://www.net-deals-online.com/smackdown-plugin/

Oh also… before I forget!  As a special offer to my lists and readers of my blog, he’s offering a major discount code that brings the price down to just $97.  I think it’s god for a few hundred people or something like that.

When you check out, be sure you use this coupon code:

fatsmack

So do check this out, early feedback from a few sneak-preview users has been tremendous, and hopefully some testimonials will be made public soon.

Also this will hopefully get everyone’s juices flowing with regard to making plugins for LPGen.  It’s easy to do, so if anyone has questions about it, just ask me!

Never Underestimate Your Impact!!

Friday, August 1st, 2008

OK, it’s been a few weeks and I still haven’t posted anything about TAC, or anything else for that matter!

Before you go thinking “bad blogger!” at me for not updating my blog all the time, keep in mind I am not now nor have I ever claimed to be “a blogger” even though I do use blogs for various things. ;) I’ve got an entire affiliate marketing business to run every day, and that is my #1 focus at all times because it’s what keeps a roof over my head and food in the fridge!

But I do want to share SOMETHING today, so… check this out.

A good friend of mine and fellow affiliate marketer watched TAC, and I made a passing comment to him afterwards about how amazing it was to be totally focused on a singular goal.  He pinged me yesterday with a few remarks… At first I didn’t quite get it, but once I did I was really blown away and humbled by them:

“I got back to my apartment and realized i grossed over $5k today cuz of YOU and what you did so quickly.  I turned on the same focus you told me about and pumped out dozens of campaigns and 1 popped and I’m earning $1-2k/day net from it. You made me reach into myself and pull out what i thought i didn’t have.”

That’s not something I hear every day… and it really made me stop in my tracks.

All I did was take part in some goofy reality show, right?  I mean, it wasn’t even on TV… what impact could it possibly have had??

I have a feeling, my friend would argue that it had a HUGE amount of impact.  I think it had more impact on him than it did on ME!  Take this as a reminder that everything we do, no matter how big or small it seems to us in the moment, has an impact.  It has an effect.  We may never know just what our actions have done, just what events we’ve set in motion… but they’re out there.

More to come, stay tuned!

And uh… it’s over!

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

Holy cow… I didn’t manage even a SINGLE blog post the entire duration of the show!!

I had all these grand visions of documenting everything as it happened, but the reality quickly became apparent that it was going to take nearly ’round-the-clock work, to pull off the numbers I wanted to hit.  And sure enough, that’s what I and my team members ended up doing.  Working from 8am until about 2pm with barely any stops, just about every day.  It was crazy!!  But then again, so were our numbers.

I’ll have a lot more to say in the near future as I get settled back at home again and get back into the normal life groove… so stay tuned.  Thanks to everyone for all the support and congratulatory thoughts, they are much appreciated!

Talk to you all later,

Jonathan
