I was just searching with Google for more info on SOPA/PIPA since I was told that it was quite quickly dismissed.  The search results that was delivered took me by surprise, even though I had said this was going to be happening not long ago:

Yep – personalized search results are here!

I’m not totally sure how they work or which ones are personal vs. not.  It also appears to be only for a subset of keywords for the moment.  Searches for “SOPA”, “PIPA”, “dogs”, and “cats” all got personalized results, but a search for “dog food” was not.

I imagine Google will be rolling this out more and more throughout 2012 until ALL searches become “personalized”.  Care to share your thoughts on how this is going to impact the SEO world?  Comments below!
